Making Room: Cristine Russell’s Mission to Empower Women in Science
Cristine Russell, Mills’71, is a pioneer, celebrated journalist, and change agent who is creating opportunities for women in the male-dominated STEM space. To that end, she founded the Russell Women in Science Leadership Program to offer students from underrepresented groups access to science experts and speakers, as well as to provide an empowering mentoring network for students.

These Campaign Champions Are Powering Our Future
Since the launch of the $1.3 billion Experience Powered by Northeastern campaign, there has been an outpouring of excitement and support from university faculty and staff. In honor of Northeastern’s 125th anniversary, 125 staff and faculty members from across the global university system have volunteered to lead and empower the community as Experience campaign champions.
Northeastern in Seattle Celebrates 10 Years of Opportunities, Learning, and Impact
In 2013, Northeastern launched its Seattle campus with two programs, 32 students, and 500 square feet of space. Since then, countless students have pursued the knowledge, industry connections, and resources needed to pivot into a career in tech. In 2023, the Seattle campus is commemorating a decade of growth and success, expanding its strengths in experiential education and lifelong learning.
Northeastern and Roxbury Community College Team Up to Help Students Earn Degrees in High-Demand Fields
U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley, along with leaders from Northeastern University and Roxbury Community College, came together to celebrate a groundbreaking $1 million scholarship program for underrepresented and low-income students hailing from Greater Boston. Through the Roxbury A2M Workforce Accelerator Partnership, students can earn their associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and begin careers in science and technology.
