Raising Our Sights Ever Higher

In the two years since its public launch, the Experience Powered by Northeastern fundraising campaign has notched resounding successes. During fiscal year 2024, the university raised a history-making $370 million, securing generous gifts and new pledges from 35,972 visionary philanthropists representing 69 countries. Northeastern’s alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends have been instrumental in driving the campaign’s unprecedented success.

Now, the university is elevating its philanthropic sightline—and raising the Experience campaign goal to an even more ambitious $1.75 billion, up from the original $1.3 billion target.

“Our new campaign goal reflects the remarkable philanthropic support inspired by our global university system, pioneering initiatives, and recognized leadership in higher education,” says Senior Vice President for University Advancement Diane Nishigaya MacGillivray. “We are excited to build upon this momentum and the dedication of our remarkable donors to achieve an even greater impact for our students and the future.”

Donors are funding scholarships and supporting experiential learning opportunities, ensuring that every student can engage in life-changing academic and professional pursuits. Contributions also extend to faculty research, accelerating groundbreaking discoveries in fields from brain health to structural resilience to coastal sustainability. And by backing Northeastern’s schools and colleges, campuses, athletic teams, student-athletes, and other key areas, philanthropists invest in the entire university community—and create a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.
